Happy Birthday Jesus: Two Greatest Commandments

It is Christmas Day and I personally wanted to say Happy Birthday to Jesus Christ.

The reason being is that he has touched my life in so many ways.

Life can be tough at times and I personally go to Jesus for guidance.

I want to start by saying, Happy B-Day Jesus.

I also got a spiritual lesson about the two greatest commandments.

One of my favorite verses in the bible is,

Matthew 22:36-40
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

My Lesson

One night I was reading websites and comments online and I came across someone who left a comment on someone’s site.

I was familiar with the image because this person left a comment on my site and I decided to delete the comment because I felt the comment was very negative and had nothing to do with the review I wrote.

I do want to add that I do not just delete comments because people do not agree with me.

I feel that if someone disagrees with me and someone is reading one of my reviews along with comments left, people can read other points of view and decide for themselves in what they want to do.

Let’s get back to what I’m getting at.

You Know That Feeling You Have Inside

Have you ever had that feeling before?

What I mean by the feeling inside is that there is a great feeling inside that says do not do it.

I had an emotion inside that I wanted to get out, but the emotion is not coming from a good place.

The same person who tried to leave a negative comment on my site left a comment on someone else’s site.

The Commenter didn’t really leave a negative comment on this site but just seeing the image and what the Commenter said to me back then brought back the negative feelings I had inside.

I wanted to reply to that person in a not so very appealing way. When I was going to reply to the comment, that’s when that feeling of don’t do it came inside of me.

Luckily it turns out that I would have to create some sort of an account to leave a comment and I really didn’t want to go to that lengths to leave a comment so instead I moved on and read other sites.

The Commenter Appears Again

I read a website of another person’s site and I read the comments and this time the person left a very negative comment.

Oh, how I wanted to reply, but I took a deep breath and said I won’t do it. I didn’t want to leave the comment because I was familiar with this person’s website and I didn’t want to bring that negativity out of respect to the site owner.

What I did next was moved on to another website.

I Read Another Website With A Message

This website was a beautiful story and the moral of the story was about praying for your enemies.

A Tit For Tat

I just had that feeling if I threw out a negative comment it would go back and forth.

Just like in a boxing match, when you throw that punch, the person will throw a punch back. Then you throw another punch and of course, that person is going to throw another.

The Problem With The Tit For Tat Action

If I left that comment, each punch is negative punches not coming from a good place and the punches could just keep going and building in a negative vile way that leads to polluting the inner core.

I believe that was the message Jesus was getting to me when I had that feeling of not replying to the person.

I got it and instead of me wanting to reply in a negative manner, I instead prayed for that person, just like what that beautiful story suggested.

It Ends Right There On My Part

We give what we get. I know that we do our duties in life and some people may never agree with what we are doing.

We can’t control what others do or think about us, but we can control what we do. We can not please all, period.

Provers 21:2
People may be right in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their heart.

I don’t know what heart this person is coming from so who am I to judge.

All I can say is that I know where my heart is and God is my Judge, so I will leave it at that.

Life Is Full Of Battles

We have so much to deal with within our own lives that we must work to love each other and I know that sometimes the love action can be hard.

Luke 23:34
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.

Jesus loves us regardless.

All In All

The act of love can be a hard action to take when we experience negativity, but love is the greatest commandments that Jesus left for us. Love our creator God The Father and love one another as we’d love ourselves.

Love spreads just as easily as hate does. It is up to you to choose what you want to spread.

Happy Birthday, Jesus!
