What is Paid Social Media Jobs aka PSMJ?
- It’s a service
How does it work?
- PSMJ is a service that offers training and a way for people to make money in the social media arena.
How much does it cost?
I’ve seen it for:
The $17 was when I X-out.
Who can join?
I believe a lot of us have that one thing that we like to do the most online.
Some people like to make money blogging from home, others like to spend their time researching and reading, others like to play games, some spend a good portion of their time watching YouTube videos, and others like to spend their time on the social sites.
The Internet offers plenty of entertaining ways to utilize our time.
To kill two birds with one stone is probably someone’s dream.
Well, that is what PSMJ seems to be about, spend time on social media, and make some money at the same time.
What Is Paid Social Media Jobs?
You’re pretty much competing with other people to get hired for a job.
More or less it’s a place that offers training and a place for you to place your skills similar to sites like Upwork and Fiverr.
The only difference is that you’re paying a fee to do this when you can find other places where you can list your skills for free.
My Thoughts When I Landed On PSMJ
The site looked okay from what I saw. There was a quick video about social media jobs.
More or less what the video stated is that people can get paid to:
- Share and like,
- Post and reply
- Get more followers
I also noticed that they even stated that there is no experience necessary and they offer training.
It All Sounds Great But!
Oh no there is a but? Yep, there is a but, but let me explain,
I think it all sounds great, but I started to think about this for a minute.
Now I’m not trying to deter a person from trying this, but when I thought about big companies like Coke, Pepsi, MacDonald’s, and so on, would they really hire someone through PSMJ? I personally think not.
I feel like they say big companies have a social presence to get you to think that these big companies are on PSMJ’s site to hire you.
Now I’m not saying that people won’t get hired who uses PSMJ, but I think it’s sugar-coated and quite enticing.
From what I reviewed on their site, I don’t think it’s a scam, but people do over hype it up.
Why Did I Say Big Companies Won’t Hire You?
Big companies like to keep a good reputation and I know they are not going to just pay people $25 an hour without going through a good interview.
If you think about a company like MacDonald’s, just to make their Mac anything a person gotta go through an interview.
Do you think those big companies would take their social presence lightly? I think not!
But Paid Social Media Jobs Offer Training?
Yeah, I hear you but, but,
That’s nice that people can get some training about social sharing and yes it’s at a price, but I feel if you’re looking for jobs, not a business but a job, I feel you shouldn’t have to pay to get hired.
If you go to any job sites that are hiring people for any job, look up the qualifications for social media jobs, you will see companies listing some of their expectations such as:
- design and generate email campaigns
- manage and update social media accounts
- must be familiar with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Instagram and Pinterest
- Able to collect data for research purposes
- able to do presentations and reports
From what I gathered, PSMJ made it seem like your just going to do some simple task such as, click the like buttons and comment and you’re going to get paid megabucks.
If you think about it, unless you like data collecting and do presentations along with your social marketing techniques, companies who are hiring for positions in the social media arena, and the requirements they are looking for, it doesn’t seem fun and glamorous at all.
Now I know each company will have different requirements and skills along with pay, so I’m not trying to deter you from the field.
Anyhow, work is work and with any job, there are tasks we like to do and task we don’t like to do.
I do see how a company big or small would hire people to build their social presence.
But like I said again, companies who are hiring are just not going to hire Joe Blow who paid 27 or even 17 bucks and is a bit wet behind the ears. Companies want results and people who have experience in this field.
How Do I Get Experience?
I get it that we all have to start somewhere. I also get that if you are on these social sites and are very active in them, you have some skills there.
Okay, you’re going to have to find some jobs in this field. I would suggest starting off small and building your skills.
I’m a firm believer that training is great, but putting your skills to action makes you greater.
I’m going to list a few companies that are hiring people to do these social tasks.
Now mind you, I haven’t tried these, but you don’t have to pay a fee to get the skills because these are jobs and some of these jobs will even train you, how cool is that!
All In All
The choice is yours, Paid social media jobs I wouldn’t call it a job more like a place where you pay a fee so you can place your skills and resume in hopes to get hired.
If you already have social media skills, you probably wouldn’t even consider PSMJ because you could place your skills on other freelance sites like Upwork for free.
If you are looking to expand your skills, I would suggest you take a look at the jobs I’ve listed above.
You do have to look at each of them to see if it’s a good fit for you.
If you’re looking to learn the whole Shabang about Internet Marketing, well I have a treat for you too.
This service you can check out for free and get some free training as well. There is a premium membership, but I suggest you check out the free stuff first and see if it’s the Shabang you were looking for.
You have some other options here, if I were in your shoes I would look at all my options before I pay a dime and find the right fit for me.
