If you saw AOJ’s (American Online Jobs) job listing and even went as far as to fill out their questionnaire, know that it is not required to fill out their questionnaire if you’re interested.
What I want to get out of the way is that some of what AOJ has to offer isn’t bad, but there are some concerns I have with their service.
So before you run off and “apply”, please take the time to find out what is American Online Jobs is about, and is there a real job they funnel you to.

Survey sites are a tricky thing because first off, they sure like to over-inflate the pay.
If you hadn’t known this, surveys are not going to make you a lot of money.
On AOJ’s website, for me, it felt like they are pretty straightforward in regards to what they are doing.
What their service is supposed to do is help you make money by referring people with a website.
If you didn’t know this, I’m all for building a website especially if it is your own unique website with your own personal domain name and content.
The concerns I have about AOJ is that I felt some of their services that are recommended are scamish, and their ad made it seem like you were getting a job to work from home.
So Let’s start with the ad.
American Online Jobs’ Ad
When you look at ads like these, the job snapshot can be very appealing because you see
- Experience none
- Degree none
- Pay Wage $17 to $25 Hr
Everyone is qualified to apply and the pay isn’t that bad.
When you look at an ad online especially when it’s in places like CareerBuilder, Indeed’s, or any other job board, you’re expecting to apply for a job.
If you kept reading the ad, AOJ said and I’m going to quote it.
“We are seeking individuals to be connected with companies who are hiring employees directly to working from their homes”
Me reading that line, I would totally start clicking to see what kinds of companies are “hiring“.
Because for me, it felt like I would be able to find a job from home that pays pretty good.
Once you get to their website, there are a series of steps they want you to follow and the first thing they want you to do is to fill out a questionnaire.
American Online Jobs Starts With Pre-Screening Questions
They ask you questions like
- How Did You Hear About Us?
- Are You At Least 18 Years Of Age?
- Do You Own A Computer Or SmartPhone With Internet Access?
- Are You Capable Of Following Detailed Instructions?
- How Do You Wish To Be Paid? Please Choose One Option Only!
- Applying Takes Approximately 15 Minutes. Are You Ready To Get Started Now?
They ask a series of general questions that I didn’t answer and just clicked because I wanted to see how important those questions were for American Online Jobs.
Once I clicked elsewhere, there was no indication that I had to answer their questions and I was able to click to the next step.
What I did was click on the “click here to apply” and like I just said, I didn’t even answer a single Pre-Screening question.
Once I click on “click here to apply” it took me to Global Test Marketing, not to Survey Club that was stated in their video in step 2.
The guy also said in their video that it is mandatory that you apply at Survey Club and if you didn’t, go back and do that.
I don’t know what is going on there, but for me, being led to Global Test Marketing and not to Survey Club indicates some confusion and disorganization. If it’s mandatory, it’s kind of misleading.
At this point and like I said in online survey jobs, it doesn’t hurt to click around and investigate the site before you make a decision.
What I Did Next Was Go To Step 2
That is where you see the video along with eight other survey sites that they recommend you join.
AOJ’s 8 Additional Sites
- My Survey
- Opinion Outpost
- Survey Voices
- Opinion City
- Pinecone Research
As for these 8 additional sites, I wouldn’t say it’s all bad to sign up with them.
AOJ is one of those survey aggregator websites.
The site I was really concerned about is Opinion City because a can of worms can be opened.
You can learn more about Opinion City here.
As for Opinion Outpost, you can’t even join that one because when I clicked on the link, it went to Google.
The list below is the survey and get paid to sites that I recommend.
I’m familiar with Toluna as for the other ones, I’ve seen them around, but I haven’t gotten into depths with them.
As for the video, what really got me concerned is that they wanted you to join Online Flex Job.
That is concerning because when I first heard about Online Flex Job, It was on a job board like Indeed.
I can’t say exactly when, but what happened was nearly every job board took down Online Flex job.
I find it a bit odd that now you can sign up with Online Flex Job by going through American Online Jobs through a job board.
This is why I said it funnels you in the title.
I also want to add that AOJ listed 8 recommend survey sites that you can join if you decide to, but that part is not mandatory.
I’m bringing that up because, in their job board ad that I mentioned earlier, they said that they are connecting you with companies that are willing to “hire” you.
However, the ones that they are recommending like Survey Club which isn’t the one you can sign up for because when you click on their link it goes to Global Test Marketing and Online Flex Job that has some really big concerning red flags.
Since It Isn’t All That Bad, Should I Go For It?
Just because it’s not all bad doesn’t mean that it’s all that great either.
I get it that obtaining your own website is cool and you can make money with your own website. I’m not hating on that and I think that is awesome.
In a nutshell, what Online Flex Job does is get you to pay $25 to complete your first offer, then they say they will reimburse you right away.
However, you don’t get your money back. What happens is that your money goes to your back office as credits and you would have to make an additional 5 more credits to get your money back.
That is why they are training you to obtain a website so you’re able to promote Online Flex Job.
Some of these trial-offers in Online Flex Job are not free and you could end up spending more money than money made.
Not only that, hosting a website and obtaining a domain name costs money. They didn’t say anything about a free website so that could be other out of pocket expenses that you will be paying.
Yes, I’m assuming that you have to pay in regards to the website info, but me being a website owner, I know first hand to host your site and to obtain a domain name cost money.
It’s not extremely expensive to own your own website and host it somewhere.
On average hosting a website alone cost around $200 a year and a domain name cost on average $15 a year.
If you’re looking for a job and money is tight, then you know that AOJ isn’t a job and they are funneling you into doing something that you may not be ready to do.
When I was looking for jobs online, I felt that there was a lack of consideration for the people who are truly in a financial bind looking for a way to earn a living from home.
I feel like these people know this and they use a person’s vulnerability to approach people in a manner like AOJ.
You feel like you found a job and then it turns out it’s NOT. I understand and I’ve been there.
If you are looking for a job, you may want to consider the info here.
As for obtaining a website, make money along with finding quality services from places like Amazon, eBay or reputable companies, you can absolutely do that by obtaining a website here.
All In All
I’ve been complaining about Data Entry Jobs online for quite some time. I complain because a lot of times it can mislead you into thinking that you are obtaining a job when that is not the case.
We all know that it shouldn’t cost money to obtain a job.
For me, what AOJ seems to be doing is funneling you to Online Flex Job.
As of today, Job boards like Indeed don’t list Online Flex Job in their database and that is a red flag.
Not only that, but Online Flex Job’s business model also has similarities to MyFlexJob.
