I’m sure that a lot of you are researching or wondering in regards to writing content on your website and you know what, oh, do I feel you.
I feel you because you’re probably wondering how do you get started writing content for your website and I will cover that.
You could have a website and you’re not inspired to write content, I feel you and been there and still feel this way at times.
You’re probably the type of person that has a website, but you have no idea in regards to how to monetize your content, there is a way to do that.
You’re probably the type of person who is inspired to write content and love writing but, don’t know what to do with your talent.
Okay, I kind of feel you on that in some sort of in an odd way.
If that is you, oh my, are you going to do quite well once you get your ducks in a row and this service here will help you with that!
Whatever the reason may be, I feel you because the content seems to be the biggest downfall to website owners.
As you’re reading my website now, you know that I have content on my website and I know what it feels like to write content.
What Does It Feel Like, Evelyn?
If you haven’t seen the movie called Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, there is a scene where Pee-wee has to save burning pets in a pet store.
I couldn’t find the full scene on YouTube. A quick recap and just so you know, I haven’t seen this movie in a very long time.
But what happened is that Pee-wee sees a burning pet store and he runs in and saves all the fun cute pets and avoids the snakes because he likes those the least.
He continues to save all the pets until he has to confront his avoidance of the snakes. He does it, but he is not too happy about it and you can see it here below.
I can totally relate because I run and do everything I can first to avoid writing content.
Just like when Peewee runs and save all the animals he prefers.
Oh, How Cute I Gotta Do This First
He sees cute cats and dogs, awe, I gotta save them first, snakes, yuk!
He sees a cute monkey, awe, I gotta save it first, snakes, yuk!
He sees fishes, awe, I better get them next, snakes, yuk!
Eventually, Pee Wee saves the snakes, but he doesn’t look too happy doing it. He is actually scared, but he does it and faints.
The scene is hilarious to me because of his facial expression with the snakes in both hands and also because of how he avoids the snakes, but he couldn’t just leave the snakes hanging so, eventually, he got it done.
Now, before you think I dislike writing as much as I dislike snakes, that’s not the case at all.
There are times when I’m inspired to write content and I get the job done without any avoidance, it just depends.
I guess you can say I’m right in the middle of this writing content debacle.
Before You Stop Reading
I know some of you are going to run away from writing.
I was like that at one time in my life. I’m not the best writer at all and you will find grammatical errors on my website.
As you grow and evolve in your life, you get to the point when you have no shame and you just do it.
I know I’m moving off subject, but I wanted to get the no shame out of the way because you just don’t know how good you are unless you put yourself out there.
Anyways, back to writing.
Why Is Writing Content On A Website Soo Very Important?
The best way I can put it is like this.
If you walked into a retail store and the store has no inventory on their shelves then there is nothing to buy. You walk in and see nothing then you walk out.
That also applies to content on your website. Content is your inventory and if you don’t have inventory, you are for sure not going to earn revenue from no fruits from your no labor.
Now I know that labor sounds draining and I feel you.
Again, I’m going back to before you run away, I want you to understand where I’m coming from.
Where Are You Coming From, Evelyn?
Once you write content and publish it, it’s out there for people to read. We are going back to the store inventory scenario in a sense.
Stores tend to have popular items on their shelves that everyone wants to purchase and will purchase, then there are products on their shelves that some people gravitate to and purchase, then there are products that may not sell as quickly, but it gets sold eventually.
Once the content is published on your website, you have inventory. The beautiful aspect of content is that you can get hundreds of people reading one article every day and that is with one article written.
If you monetize that content, revenue can be made from one single article written.
Imagine if you had more content written, some content will get you hundreds of readers, other content will get you twenty or thirty readers a day, other content will get you, five readers, a day and there are content that doesn’t get readers every day, maybe once a week and there are articles that may hardly ever get any readers.
Whatever your traffic is, you have inventory and traffic to your website which leads to revenue.
Just like a store with inventory on their shelves.
I Don’t Have A Website And I Don’t Know What My Content Should Be About
Is that is your dilemma? Personally, I don’t think that’s a big dilemma because you can easily nip this in the bud by selecting a particular niche on what you would like your website to be about.
My advice to you is to think of your hobbies, what you enjoy doing, your life experience, what you are passionate about, or what you spend the most time doing.
From there, you can write your ideas down in a notebook and select a niche.
To give you an example, some people are very organized with their stuff.
That could be a niche. There are people out there who would love to become organize and have no idea where to begin.
With a website niche in regards to staying organized with your stuff, you can help people do that.
There are a lot of items out there that people can purchase to help them stay organized.
A website like that is not just about sales, it’s about helping people and if you can help one person do that, you hit a milestone, and revenue tend to come naturally.
I Don’t Like To Write And I Don’t Know If I Can Do This
When I first published my articles, I closed my eyes and was thinking what the heck am I doing?
Like I said earlier, it got to the point where I had to have no shame and grow from it.
I just kept on keeping on. Don’t get me wrong, there were times where I lagged and lagged and lagged.
I’m not going to say that it’s been smooth sailing, but I do manage to get it done some way and somehow.
Once I continue to write content, I started to see results.
People do come to my website and read my articles, leave comments along with revenue.
If you are like me and have those issues that you feel that you don’t like to write your best friend is a notebook and a pen.
A notebook and pen can really solve a lot of issues in regard to the ideas you would like to write about along with getting that dislike for writing into a more positive aspect.
The reason why is because you’ll obtain ideas from your thoughts and get excited to put them to life.
I’ve experienced times where I’m not too excited about writing, but if I hadn’t written that article, I wouldn’t have had the traffic and revenue from what I wrote.
There are times where I get excited about writing an article and have no problem doing it.
Another helpful tip is to explore your niche because you will get ideas from your niche, there is always room to grow and you will gain experience through what you learn.
Remember that the more you continue to write content, the easier it gets.
I Have A Website, But I Haven’t Made Any Money From My Labor
People ask me to look at their websites all the time and I noticed that some people are missing key articles from their website or they are not internally linking their articles, also they may not have a call to action.
There was a website that I looked at and I noticed how they were missing important data from their website.
This person has written a lot of great articles, but I felt that person didn’t deliver on other points that this person should have had in regards to the content.
I don’t want to call people out, but this person’s website was about antiques.
This person didn’t write articles in regards to how to take care of your antiques, how to get your antiques appraised, how to clean them, how to get these antiques insured, where can you purchase scam-free antiques or even, how to sell your antiques.
I was surprised to see a person building a website longer than me and didn’t have these articles written.
If You Love To Write, Boy Are You In For A Treat
Why don’t you have your own website may I ask? There are people out there who wish they were in your shoes.
Your first step is to select a niche that you will enjoy writing content about.
Then from there, as I mentioned above, just start your journey here!
I Have Writer’s Block And Don’t Know What To Write About
I’m going to let you in on a little secret.
Before I started writing this particular content you are reading right now, I had the same issue.
What I did was some keyword research and that is what lead me to find content to write about.
It wasn’t easy either because I saw other keywords that I could have created content for, but I wasn’t inspired by those other keywords.
I know what it feels like to write content on a website and I personally feel it helps when a keyword inspires me to write content.
That doesn’t mean that the other keywords I found won’t inspire me to write content tomorrow or in the future, but I know how I feel today and this keyword I found inspired me to write this content now and published it the same day.
If you don’t know about keywords, I would suggest you read this article here.
All In All
Writing content on your website is what helps bring traffic. With no content, people have nothing to read and will leave just like with the scenario I gave in regards to retail stores.
I also would like to add that nothing goes smoothly. With life, in general, you will have good days, bad days, and days where you are unstoppable.
With writing content on your website, that also applies.
Once you get content published, I always feel great that I did it.
The key is not to give up. The key is to get through it and good keyword research sure does help.
